At Solid Solutions Renovations, we believe in building more than just beautiful spaces — we’re building community, connection, and a company culture that lasts. From supporting a great cause to racing go-karts and expanding our in-house services, this summer has already been full of meaningful moments.
Supporting Girls in Our Community
On June 5, we proudly participated as a Hole Sponsor at the Golf for Girls Tournament, hosted by our friends at Made by Momma. The event raises vital funds for women and families facing adversity in Calgary, and we were honoured to be part of it.
From tee-off to the final putt, it was a fantastic day spent supporting a cause close to our hearts. A big thank-you to the organizers and everyone who came out to make it a success!
Solid Speedsters Hit the Track
This week, our team is trading tool belts for helmets as we head to Speeders Go-Karting by Chinook for a company-only team event.
It’s our chance to shift gears, unwind, and enjoy some well-earned downtime together outside the job site. These kinds of team-building moments help us stay connected, energized, and ready to take on whatever the next project throws our way.
Evolving Our Design Services
Over the past year, we’ve been proud to expand and refine our Design Services offering — giving clients the opportunity to shape their renovation around their actual budget, while working with a team that understands both form and function.
A key piece of that success? Our partnership with Modern Fox Interiors.

Meet Emera Howden-Gareau — layout enthusiast, lifelong creative, and the force behind Modern Fox Interiors.
Emera has been redesigning spaces since she was old enough to push furniture around. After moving countless times as a kid, she developed an uncanny knack for flow, floorplans, and spotting exactly what doesn’t work in a space.
By age 10, she was selling screen-printed shirts at the farmers market. At 12, she was running a full-time nannying business — and yes, she even took time off school to do it. Not long after, she convinced her principal to let her graduate high school early. By 15, she’d written her first award-winning business proposal. And by 22, she’d already launched one career, pivoted, and gone back to school to pursue interior design — completing eight years of post-secondary education along the way.
Today, she’s the founder and principal designer at Modern Fox Interiors, a studio known for bold ideas, clever layouts, and spaces that actually work for real life. Her work has earned her a Canadian Choice Award, a Quality Business Award, and recognition from Best Calgary and Clever Canadian.
With a background in Social Sciences and a creative toolkit that spans painting, graphic design, and music, Emera brings a thoughtful, multi-dimensional perspective to every project. From her early drafting days to her time as an in-house designer for a home builder, and now as the founder of her own firm — she’s all about the details that make a space feel just right.
At Modern Fox, it’s never about chasing trends. It’s about fearless, functional design tailored to how people really live.
From finishes to fixtures, Modern Fox ensures that every element is intentional and cohesive — and always stays within scope.
What’s Next?
Between giving back, leveling up, and staying close as a team, we’re proud of how far we’ve come — and even more excited about where we’re headed next.
Thank you to our clients, trade partners, and community for continuing to support what we do.
We’ll see you on site… or maybe on the track.
